India’s Sri Lanka tour will start from 27 July
The Indian cricket team is going to tour Sri Lanka very soon. Team India will be seen playing a three-match T20 and a three-match ODI series on this tour. India’s tour will begin with the T20 series starting from July 27.
However, before the start of this tour of India, a big news has come out for the Men in Blue. According to media reports of Cricbuzz, Morne Morkel will not be able to go with Team India on this tour. So for this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made a temporary arrangement and appointed Sairaj Bahutule, associated with the National Cricket Academy (NCA), as the interim coach of the team for this tour.
It is worth noting that the formalities for Morkel to become the new bowler of the Indian cricket team are almost complete, but his appointment has not been done yet. Due to this, he will not be able to go on the Sri Lanka tour with Team India.
However, there is every possibility of him joining the Indian cricket team before the two-match Test series against Bangladesh in September. So, if we tell you the reason for Morkel not being able to join the team at this time, then he will not be able to join the Indian cricket team for the Sri Lanka tour due to personal reasons.
Bahutule will be part of the coaching staff led by Gautam Gambhir, and it is likely that either Abhishek Nair or Ryan ten Doeschate will be seen as assistant coaches on the tour.
