India need to win the third ODI at any cost to end the ODI series on a draw.
IND vs SL 3rd ODI: The third match of the ongoing three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka (IND vs SL) is being played today on Wednesday, August 7 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Let us tell you that in this match, all-rounder Shivam Dube has been seen bowling very tight, due to which Sri Lanka could not open its hands in the powerplay against India.
So after performing averagely in the first two ODIs against Sri Lanka, Dubey was expected to perform better in the third ODI. Dubey has lived up to the team’s expectations. Captain Rohit handed the ball to Dubey in the powerplay itself against the host Sri Lanka who won the toss and chose to bat first.
Dubey came to bowl the second over of the Sri Lankan innings and he conceded only 2 runs in this over. After this he bowled the fourth over and in this too he conceded only 1 run. After this he bowled the sixth over of the Sri Lankan innings and in this over Dubey conceded only 1 run.
After this, Dubey came to bowl the 8th over and he gave 5 runs in this over. Dubey gave only 9 runs in the powerplay in the four overs he bowled, due to which Team India was successful in tightening the screws on the host team from the beginning.

Sri Lanka set a target of 249 runs for India to win
On the other hand, batting first in the match, host Sri Lanka scored 248 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. For Sri Lanka, opener Avishka Fernando scored 96 runs and Pathum Nissanka played a brilliant innings of 45 runs. Apart from this, wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis contributed 59 runs and Kamindu Mendis contributed 23* runs.
If we talk about Team India’s bowling, debutant Riyan Parag took the maximum of 3 wickets, while Mohammad Siraj, Akshar Patel, Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav got 1 wicket each. Well, now it will be interesting to see whether Team India is able to achieve this target or not?
