IND-W vs AUS-W 1st T20I: The Australian women’s cricket team is on a tour of India, where a one-off Test match and a three-match ODI series were played. The first match of the three-match T20 series between the two teams was played on January 5 at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. Team India won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Australia, batting first, was all out for 141 runs in 19.2 overs. On the strength of brilliant innings by Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma, India chased the target in just 17.2 overs and won by 9 wickets. With this victory, Team India has taken a 1-0 lead in the series.

IND-W vs AUS-W: Titas Sadhu bowled brilliantly

Due to India’s excellent bowling, the Australian women’s team was seen struggling. Titas Sadhu gave the team its first success by dismissing Beth Mooney (17 runs). Titas Sadhu then sent Tahlia McGrath to the pavilion for a duck and Ashley Gardner to the pavilion for a golden duck. Titas Sadhu then completed the haul of 4 wickets by sending Annabel Sutherland to the pavilion (12 runs).

Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma were out to chase the target. Smriti Mandhana played an unbeaten inning of 54 runs in 52 balls with the help of 7 fours and 1 six. Whereas Shefali Verma, showing explosive style, played an unbeaten inning of 64 runs with the help of 6 fours and 3 sixes in 44 balls. None of Australia’s female bowlers could give their best. Tahlia McGrath proved to be very expensive, giving away 31 runs in 2 overs.
