IND W vs SA W, 2nd ODI: The second match of the three-match ODI series between India Women and South Africa Women was played today on 19 June at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Batting first after losing the toss, the Indian women’s team scored 325 runs on the board for the loss of 3 wickets.
In response, South Africa women’s team was also playing well while chasing the target. But at the end of 50 overs, the team was able to score only 321 runs at the loss of 6 wickets and India registered a spectacular victory by 4 runs. With this victory, the host captured the series, the team is leading 2-0.
IND-W vs SA-W: Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur hit centuries
Batting first, Team India suffered the first blow in the 12th over at a score of 38. Opener Shefali Verma was out after scoring 20 runs. Then the team lost the second wicket at a score of 100 in the form of Dayalan Hemalatha (24). After which Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana were seen showing their class at the Chinnaswamy ground. There was a partnership of 171 runs for the third wicket between the two batsmen.
Smriti Mandhana played an innings of 136 runs in 120 balls with the help of 18 fours and 2 sixes. She has become the first Indian woman player to score back to back centuries in ODIs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur played an unbeaten innings of 103 runs in 88 balls with the help of 9 fours and 3 sixes.
Richa Ghosh scored an unbeaten 25 runs in 13 balls. For the South Africa women’s team, Nonkululeko Mlaba took two wickets for 51 runs in 10 overs, she took the wickets of Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana. Masabata Klaas took one wicket.

She lost her wicket against Deepti Sharma in the 43rd over of the innings.
South Africa needed 11 runs in the last over to win. But Pooja Wastrakar bowled brilliantly and gave only 6 runs. And took the wickets of Nadine de Klerk (28) and Nondumiso Shangase. Captain Laura Wolvaardt returned unbeaten after scoring 135 runs in 135 balls but could not make the team win. For India, Pooja Wastrakar and Deepti Sharma took the maximum of 2-2 wickets. Arundhati Reddy and Smriti Mandhana took 1-1 wickets each.
