The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the Indian team for the upcoming tour against Zimbabwe today i.e. on 24th June. This tour will start immediately after the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 currently being played. The Indian team will tour Harare in the first week of July.

Let us tell you, the captaincy of the Indian team for the upcoming tour has been handed over to the brilliant opening batsman Shubman Gill. Shubman Gill will be seen captaining the Indian team at the international level for the first time. This excellent player captained Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2024. However, his performance as captain was quite disappointing in this important tournament. Earlier, reports were also coming out that VVS Laxman could be given a big responsibility as the head coach of the Indian team for the upcoming tour.

Not only this, Riyan Parag, Nitish Reddy and Abhishek Sharma have also been given a chance in the upcoming tour. All these three players have got a place in the Indian international team for the first time. Let us tell you, all these three players performed very well in the Indian Premier League 2024 and won the hearts of all the fans. This is the reason why now Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy and Riyan Parag have been included in the Indian team in the upcoming Zimbabwe tour.

Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel will be seen playing as wicketkeepers in the team, while apart from Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rituraj Gaikwad can also be seen making their mark as openers in the upcoming tour. Apart from Nitish Reddy, Washington Sundar has also been included in the team as an all-rounder. Tushar Deshpande of Chennai Super Kings has also confirmed his place in this 15-member team.
