Former Pakistan cricketer Junaid Khan criticized India’s poor bowling performance after their 0-2 loss in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. On Wednesday, August 7, the third and final ODI of the series was played between India and Sri Lanka. By losing this match, India also lost the series 2-0. Let us tell you that, Sri Lanka managed to defeat its neighbors in a bilateral ODI series for the first time since 1997.
During the recently concluded ODI series, the Sri Lankan team dominated the Indian team in every department. In the entire series, the Indian bowlers were not able to bowl out the Lankan team even once. Sri Lanka won the toss on all three occasions and decided to bat first on the pitches. Talking about the third ODI match, Sri Lanka won the toss and scored 248/7. Avishka Fernando scored the highest 96 runs in 102 balls for Sri Lanka. Apart from him, Pathum Nissanka contributed 45 and Kusal Mendis contributed 59 runs. In response, Team India was all out for 138 runs in just 26.1 overs.
Rohit scored the highest 35 runs for India. Washington Sundar was dismissed after scoring 30 runs and Virat Kohli was dismissed after scoring 20 runs. India lost five wickets at the score of 73 runs. Dunith Welalage bowled the best in his career for Sri Lanka. He took 5 wickets for 27 runs in 5.1 overs.
