The first ODI match is being played between the Indian women’s team and South Africa at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Where India’s star batsman Smriti Mandhana has scored a century. She scored the sixth century of her ODI career in 116 balls. Thanks to her brilliant innings, the Indian team, batting first, scored 255 runs for 8 wickets.

In the match, the Indian team won the toss and decided to bat first. However, this decision of captain Harmanpreet Kaur did not prove to be correct and in the fourth over itself, the team suffered its first setback in the form of Shefali Verma. After Shefali, Hemalata also got out after scoring 12 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur got out after scoring 10 runs and Jemima Rodrigues got out after scoring 17 runs. Richa Ghosh also returned to the pavilion cheaply.

Mandhana scored her first century in her home

After losing five wickets at a score of 99 runs, Team India looked in a lot of trouble, but Smriti Mandhana was standing at one end. She batted brilliantly and attacked the African bowlers fiercely. She scored her first ODI century at home. Before this, all her five centuries had come on foreign soil.

Mandhana played an innings of 117 runs in 127 balls with the help of 12 fours and a six. With this, the stylish left-handed batsman also completed her 7000 runs in international cricket. Apart from Mandhana, Deepti Sharma scored 37 runs in 48 balls, while Pooja Vastrakar contributed unbeaten 31 runs in 42 balls. Radha Yadav scored 6 runs and Asha Shobhana scored unbeaten 8 runs.

For South Africa, Ayabonga Khaka took the maximum of three wickets. Masabata Klaas took 2 wickets. Anneri Dirksen, Nonkululeko Mlaba and Shangase took 1-1 wickets.
