In IPL 2011, two new teams Pune Warriors India and Kochi Tuskers Kerala joined the league. All 10 teams played matches in their home grounds. 10 teams were divided into two groups, in Group-A – Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils, Kings 11 Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Pune Warriors India and in Group-B – Chennai Super Kings, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan. Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore were included.

IPL 2011 Final on 28th May at M.A. Played at Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk. Batting first, Chennai Super Kings scored 205 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. Murali Vijay played the highest innings of 95 runs in 52 balls for the team. While chasing the target, Royal Challengers Bangalore could score only 147 runs at the loss of 8 wickets.
