IPL 2024: AB de Villiers will be seen in the commentary box this season, hints at return to RCB too

Indian Premier League 2024: Former South African captain and legendary batsman AB de Villiers (AB De Villiers) are scheduled to come to India for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024).

The former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman revealed on his YouTube channel that he will be in Mumbai for the first few weeks of the upcoming IPL 2024. Actually, AB De Villiers is going to be seen in action as a broadcaster in the upcoming IPL 2024.

De Villiers further revealed his conversation with Virat Kohli and said that he can also be seen in a short coaching role with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the upcoming IPL 2024. Let us tell you, De Villiers was also a part of the broadcasting team in IPL 2023.

AB de Villiers said on his YouTube channel: “Nothing has been decided yet, but Virat has indicated that he would like me to come over and spend some time with him and some of the batsmen. This call will be taken on behalf of Andy Flower, Faf du Plessis and the team. For now, I will be in Mumbai for the first few weeks of IPL 2024. “I’m going to do a little bit of commentary this season.”

AB de Villiers to retire in 2021

Let us tell you, AB de Villiers is one of the most aggressive batsmen in the history of IPL. The former South African captain scored 5162 runs in 184 IPL matches. De Villiers was one of the stalwarts of RCB along with Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli.

AB de Villiers announced his retirement from all formats of the game in November 2021. He had revealed that after the eye operation it became difficult for him to bat, hence he retired.
