In an important match played today i.e. on 3rd May, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Mumbai Indians by 24 runs at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. In this match, all the bowlers from Kolkata Knight Riders performed very well and played an important role in the victory of their team. Mumbai Indians failed to show good performance against Kolkata and due to this they had to face defeat.

On behalf of the team, Venkatesh Iyer batted very well and played a match-winning inning of 70 runs in 52 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes. Venkatesh Iyer did not spare any Mumbai bowler and hit hard against all of them. Apart from Venkatesh Iyer, Manish Pandey scored 42 runs in 31 balls with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes. Angkrish Raghuvanshi contributed 13 runs.

Apart from these three batsmen, no other player could cross the 10-run mark. Jasprit Bumrah bowled very well for Mumbai and took 3 wickets for 18 runs in 3.5 overs. Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, Nuwan Thusara also took three wickets. Hardik Pandya took two wickets while Piyush Chawla took one wicket.

Suryakumar Yadav failed to give victory to Mumbai

While chasing the target, Mumbai Indians kept falling wickets at regular intervals and due to this the team could not register a win against Kolkata. Mumbai Indians were all out for 145 runs in this match. On behalf of the team, Suryakumar Yadav played a valuable inning of 56 runs in 35 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes, while Tim David contributed 24 runs.

Ishan Kishan failed to play a big innings in this match and was out after scoring 13 runs. Rohit Sharma scored 11 runs against Kolkata. For Kolkata Knight Riders, Mitchell Starc bowled lethally and took 4 wickets while Sunil Narine, Varun Chakraborty and Andre Russell took two wickets each.
