The 49th match of IPL 2024 was played between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. In the match, Punjab won the toss and decided to bowl, which proved to be correct. Batting first, Chennai scored 162 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad played the captaincy innings for Chennai.

CSK batsmen had to struggle to score runs

CSK, who came to bat first after losing the toss, had a good start, the team scored 55 runs without losing any wicket in the powerplay. From here it seemed that the yellow team would once again be successful in making a big score. But then Chennai’s fall of wickets started. CSK got the first blow in the form of Rahane, who was out after scoring 29 runs in 24 balls.

After that, Shivam Dubey was out on a golden duck on the next ball without opening the account. After this, Ravindra Jadeja, who came to bat at number four, went on after scoring 2 runs in four balls. After this, Sameer Rizvi, who came to bat as an impact player, tried to handle the innings with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, but he could not make much impact.

Rizvi departed after scoring 21 runs in 23 balls. Finally the fans got to see the magic of Mahi. Dhoni scored 14 runs in 11 balls and CSK managed to score 162 runs in 20 overs. Captain Ruturaj scored the most runs for Chennai. He played an inning of 62 runs in 48 balls.

PBKS bowlers did wonders

If we talk about bowling, Harpreet Brar and Rahul Chahar were the most successful bowlers from Punjab. Harpreet took two wickets for 17 runs in the chat over, while Chahar also took two wickets for 16 runs. Apart from this, Kagiso Rabada and Arshdeep Singh took one wicket each. Now it will be interesting to see whether Punjab is able to achieve this target or not.
