In the history of IPL, RCB’s name is included among those teams which have not been able to capture the IPL trophy even once. Despite having many cricket legends in the team, this team has not been able to achieve success. Now former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has given a big statement on this and has taken a dig at the team.
Former Chennai Super Kings batsman Suresh Raina recently gave an interview, during which he criticized IPL teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC). Talking to Lallantop, Raina said that the teams which partied heavily in the initial season of IPL have not won a single trophy till now. Also, CSK has never organized a party after its matches and that is why the team has won 5 IPL and 2 Champions League trophies.
‘Chennai never threw a party’: Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina said, “There was never a party in Chennai. That is why they have been the most successful. The 2-3 partying teams have not been able to win the IPL trophy yet. There are also teams which have not won till date, they must have partied hard. We (CSK) did not do that so we have 5 IPL trophies and 2 Champions League trophies. MI has also won 5 trophies.”
‘If you party till late night, how will you play in the morning?’
Suresh Raina said that CSK did not party because every cricketer and management staff was serious about their work. Speaking further, Raina said, “If you party till late night, how will you play in the morning? If you party all night in the summer of May-June, how will you play an afternoon match? The entire team was paying special attention to ensure that the party did not continue till late night. We should have remembered that we are also playing for India. Why would my captain pick me if I don’t play well? Now, I am free, retired. So we can have a party.”
