After playing a stormy innings against Delhi Capitals, young KKR batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi has said that the ‘key person’ behind his success was Abhishek Nair, who has been training him since childhood. Angkrish made his debut as an impact player in the last match against RCB, but did not get a chance to bat.

The 18-year-old was sent in to bat at No. 3 during the match against DC and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands when he got it alongside Sunil Narine. Both these batsmen attacked the Delhi bowlers in such a way that their bowlers could never recover from it.

Angkrish made a partnership of 104 runs with Sunil Narine and scored his IPL half-century while batting for the first time, thanks to the innings of both of them, KKR scored 272 runs in their 20 overs. Raghuvanshi scored 54 runs in just 27 balls. After the match, he dedicated this innings to Nair and the rest of the players of the KKR team.

Angkrish dedicated his first half-century of IPL to his coach.

Speaking after the match, Angkrish revealed that it was Nair who trained him to play shots in the T20 format and had been working with him since childhood. He said, “I want to dedicate this innings to my coach Abhishek Nair and my teammates and support staff. I have learned a lot by being with him. Abhishek sir has been working with me since childhood. All this reverse sweep and everything, he made me practice a lot, so the main person is only him.”

After that Angkrish also said that he hopes that he will debut for Team India soon and he claimed that he wants to do something different by doing so. Angkrish said that, “My dream is obviously to wear the Indian jersey. But it has to be worn as if no one has ever worn it before. Everyone will look at me and say, I am different.”

(Photo Source: Twitter) Fast bowler Tushar Deshpande, who plays domestic cricket for Mumbai, can be seen playing in the second phase of Ranji Trophy. It is noteworthy that Deshpande had a successful ankle operation on September 13 in London. After this operation, he is recovering and due to this has not been able to participate in any kind of competitive cricket. Apart from this, he has also been ruled out of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament starting from September 23. However, he is expected to make a comeback in the second leg of Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir on January 23. The 29-year-old player is currently completing the rehab process at BCCI’s Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. Also, being out of Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament can prove to be a big blow for Deshpande. Because the player has been released by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) before the IPL 2025 auction. However, CSK can still re-add him to their team using the Right to Match Card (RTM). But if he had played in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament, his performance might have caught the attention of some other teams. It is noteworthy that during IPL 2024, Deshpande was one of the important fast bowlers of the CSK camp. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad handed the ball to Deshpande several times in the last overs and he remained true to his captain’s decision. In the last season of IPL, Tushar took 17 wickets in 13 matches played for five-time champion CSK, while Tushar played an important role in making Chennai the champion in the year 2023. This season, Tushar had taken 23 wickets in 16 matches played.
