Former Indian cricketers Mohammad Kaif and Irfan Pathan have shared their opinion for the opening matches of the IPL season and tournament to be played between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on March 22.

Pathan also analyzed RCB’s fast bowling lineup, and stressed its importance on the batting-friendly Chinnaswamy pitch. Apart from this, Kaif spoke in detail about Virat Kohli’s form and RCB’s chances of reaching the playoffs. He stressed that despite the presence of other players like Green and Maxwell, Kohli’s consistency will be vital for the team’s success.

On Star Sports show, Irfan Pathan said, “One thing I would like to say to the RCB fans is that people may say that the bowling line-up for the team is weak, at least it seems so, but the management of RCB has made a work done. He has included fast bowlers in his bowling line up. They have 3 fast bowlers who can bowl the ball at a speed of 140 km/h. So there is a possibility that on a pitch like Chinnaswamy, this pace could come in handy as his batting is really very strong.

Mohammad Quaid talks about Virat Kohli’s return to form and how important it is for RCB to make the playoffs. He said, “Virat Kohli has been playing amazing cricket for the last 1-2 years, he is in good form. I remember during the Asia Cup when he scored a century against Afghanistan; Since then, he has not looked back.

He has been in amazing form since then, and when a player like Virat Kohli is in form, he knows how to score runs in every match. He was also the best player of the tournament during the World Cup. So I think he will continue this amazing form.”
