Pat Cummins will be seen captaining SRH in IPL 2024.
Australian captain Pat Cummins described India as his second home ahead of playing with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2024. The 30-year-old player became the second most expensive cricketer in IPL history when SRH spent Rs 20.5 crore to buy him. Today, on March 4, SRH also appointed Cummins as the captain for the upcoming season.
Speaking to Star Sports, Cummins described the feeling as ‘very good’ when the entire Indian fans were not against you. Cummins said, “India is like a second home. We spend a lot of time here. In IPL you get your home teams. In such a situation, you really feel that you have a lot of fans or at least cricket fans who support you. A lot of people come up to me and say, ‘I am from Kolkata or I support KKR. So it’s a good feeling that everyone is not against you.”
SRH will be desperate to make a comeback this season after a disappointing performance last season. In IPL 2023, they finished at the bottom of the points table with four wins in 14 matches. Meanwhile, Cummins played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for two years in 2014-15 and 2020-22 and for Delhi Capitals (DC) in 2017
“It’s always good to go up against Virat” – Pat Cummins
pat cummins talked about his on-field rivalry with Indian superstar Virat Kohli. He told that both of them have performed better than each other on different occasions. While the Australian fast bowler has never dismissed a champion batsman in the IPL and other T20 leagues, he has enjoyed success in international cricket. Cummins has dismissed Kohli five times in Tests, twice in ODIs and once in T20Is.
Cummins said, “I I believe in focusing on what I do best. Those guys are so nice, if you make even the slightest mistake they will find a way to throw you off your game. It is always good to play against Virat. He has troubled me many times. I have also put him in trouble many times. “It’s always pretty cool.”
