India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who has been rehabbing after a horrific car accident in December 2022, is set to return to competitive cricket for the first time in almost 15 months as he prepares. Delhi Capitals is set to lead the franchise in the 2024 edition of the IPL starting from March 22. In such a situation, the eyes of the fans will also be on him.

Recently BCCI declared Rishabh Pant fit for the upcoming edition of IPL. After getting the fitness clearance, Rishabh Pant said, “I am excited and nervous at the same time. It looks like I am going to debut again.”

On joining Delhi Capitals’ pre-season camp, Pant said, “I am excited to return to Delhi Capitals and the IPL – a tournament I enjoy very much. Our team owners and support staff have been with me at every step with their full support, guidance and cooperation, for which I am extremely grateful. I can’t wait to be reunited with my DC family and play in front of fans again.

Let us tell you that recently the IPL Chairman had announced the schedule for the first 21 matches. According to him, Delhi Capitals will start their IPL 2024 campaign against Punjab Kings on Saturday, Match 23, 2024 at Maharaja Yadvendra Singh Stadium, Mohali.

26-year-old Pant followed the rehabilitation and recovery process for several months after the accident and will now return to the field after about 14 months. Regarding this, Pant said, “After what I have gone through, being able to play cricket again is nothing less than a miracle. I am grateful to all my well-wishers and fans and most importantly, the people of BCCI and NCA. All their love and support keeps giving me immense strength.”
