After the win against Lucknow, Kolkata Knight Riders have reached the top of the points table with 16 points.
IPL 2024 Points Table: In IPL 2024, two explosive matches were played on 5th May. Chennai Super Kings won against Punjab Kings by 28 runs. Whereas Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Lucknow by 98 runs at their home. After these two matches, there has been a big upheaval in the points table.
After defeating Lucknow, Kolkata Knight Riders have reached the top of the points table with 16 points. Rajasthan Royals have slipped one place to second place. After the defeat of Lucknow Super Giants, Sunrisers Hyderabad has reached fourth place, and KL Rahul’s team has come to fifth place.
After the win against Punjab Kings, Chennai Super Kings has moved straight from fifth to third position with 12 points. After the defeat, Punjab Kings are still at 8th position.

IPL 2024: Status of both the matches played today
The first match of the day on 5 May was played between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings in Dharamshala. In the match, CSK, batting first, scored 167 runs at the loss of 9 wickets. Ravindra Jadeja played the highest innings of 43 runs in 26 balls. Chasing the target, Punjab Kings could only score 139 runs in 20 overs, and Chennai won by 28 runs. Jadeja also showed excellence in bowling and took maximum 3 wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs.
In the second match played at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Lucknow by 98 runs. Batting first, KKR put 235 runs on the board at the loss of 6 wickets. Sunil Narayan played an inning of 81 runs in 39 balls. While chasing the target, Lucknow team was all out for 137 runs in 16.1 overs. Harshit Rana and Varun Chakraborty took maximum 3-3 wickets for Kolkata.
