The third match of the Indian Premier League 2024 was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Kolkata Knight Riders won this match. All the players from Kolkata Knight Riders performed very well in this match and played an important role in the victory of their team.

In this match, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Kolkata Knight Riders scored 208 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. On behalf of the team, opener Phil Salt batted very well and scored 54 runs in 40 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes.

Apart from Phil Salt, Andre Russell batted brilliantly and played a stormy inning of 64* runs in 25 balls with the help of 3 fours and 7 sixes. Andre Russell did not spare any bowler of Sunrisers Hyderabad and hit hard against all of them. Ramandeep Singh also batted very well and contributed 35 runs. Rinku Singh also played a brilliant inning of 33 runs.

For Sunrisers Hyderabad, T Natarajan took three wickets for 32 runs in four overs while Mayank Markande took two wickets. Captain Pat Cummins took one wicket.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, who set out to chase the target, had a very good start in this match. On behalf of the team, Mayank Agarwal and Abhishek Sharma made an explosive partnership of 60 runs for the first wicket. Both these batsmen contributed 32 runs each.

However, after this, Sunrisers Hyderabad kept losing wickets at regular intervals. But in the end, Heinrich Klaasen played a tremendous innings for the team and scored 63 runs with the help of eight sixes in 29 balls.

Klaasen completed his half-century in just 25 balls in this match. However, he failed to lead his team to victory. Sunrisers Hyderabad needed 13 runs to win in the last over but Harshit Rana bowled very well in this over and gave only 8 runs. Because of his bowling, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by four runs.
