Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Chennai Super Kings scored 210 runs on the board at the loss of 4 wickets. Ruturaj Gaikwad played a captaincy inning of 108* runs in 60 balls with the help of 12 fours and 3 sixes.

Whereas Shivam Dubey had scored 66 runs in 27 balls with the help of 3 fours and 7 sixes. Lucknow Super Giants chased the target of 211 runs with 3 balls remaining and won by 6 wickets. Marcus Stoinis played an unbeaten match-winning inning of 124 runs in 63 balls with the help of 13 fours and 6 sixes.
