Gautam Gambhir, who led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to win the IPL title in 2012 and 2014, has now rejoined the KKR team as a mentor. Gambhir was a part of Lucknow Super Giants in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, but he decided to leave the franchise before the upcoming season.

Now with the hope of changing the fortunes of KKR, the former Indian opening batsman has reached Kolkata on Thursday 14 March to join the franchise as a mentor. A video of this is becoming increasingly viral on the internet, in which Gambhir is seen surrounded by fans. At the same time, fans are also looking very excited on his arrival in Kolkata after 7 years.

Let us tell you that Gautam Gambhir joined KKR in 2011 and stayed with the team till 2017. During this period, KKR qualified for the playoffs five times, in which it managed to win the title twice.

Talking about the performance of KKR last season, the team won only 6 out of 14 matches, while it had to face defeat in 8. He finished 7th in the points table with 12 points. However, the team will be hoping for a good performance in the 2024 season.

Let us tell you that IPL 2024 is going to start from March 22 and Kolkata will start its campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23.
