In this match, Gujarat Titans won the toss and decided to bowl first. Young player Shivam Dubey batted very well for Chennai Super Kings and played an aggressive innings of 51 runs in 23 balls with the help of two fours and five sixes. Shivam Dubey did not spare any bowler of Gujarat Titans and hit hard against all of them.

Apart from Shivam Dubey, Rachin Ravindra contributed 46 runs while captain Rituraj Gaikwad also scored 46 runs. Daryl Mitchell played a brilliant inning of 24* runs.
