IPL 2024 starts from 22nd March
Indian cricket fans are eagerly waiting for the 17th season of IPL. It is noteworthy that the upcoming season of IPL is starting from Friday, March 22. The first match will be played between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore (CSK vs RCB). This match between the two teams is going to be held at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
However, some new cricket rules have also been seen in this new season of IPL. While the Impact Player rule implemented last season was implemented, this time there have been changes regarding smart replay system and bowling of bouncer balls in one over. Let us tell you about the new rules that will be implemented during IPL 2024:
Smart Replay System
Let us tell you that the Smart Replace System rule has been implemented for the first time in IPL 2024. This is a type of camera based review system. After this system, there will be more transparency in on-field decisions and DRS calls.
Let us tell you that after this smart replay system, high speed cameras will be installed all around the field. 8 high speed cameras will be installed on the field. Apart from this, two Hawk Eye cameras will also be installed in the third umpire room, so that the umpires can get real time images and other important data. After this, an unprecedented change can be seen with the speed in the decision making of the umpire.
Also, let us tell you that before this system, the umpire had to depend on the TV broadcaster director for DIS decisions and the decisions referred by the on-field umpire to the third umpire. But after the smart replay system, this need will end.
Change in rules related to bouncer ball
Let us tell you that BCCI has also changed the rules of bowling bouncer balls in an over in the upcoming IPL season. In IPL 2024, bowlers will be able to bowl a maximum of 2 bouncers in 1 over. After the implementation of this rule, there will definitely be a slight reduction in the dominating attitude of the batsmen. Let us tell you that before implementing this rule in IPL, BCCI had already implemented it in the last season of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
