IPL 2024 Orange and Purple Cap Update: In IPL 2024, two big explosive matches were played on 7th April. The first match was played between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Batting first, Mumbai Indians put 234 runs on the board at the loss of 5 wickets. Rohit Sharma played the highest innings of 49 runs in 27 balls for the team. Tim David (45) and Romario Shepherd (39) made important contributions.
While chasing the target, Delhi Capitals team could score only 205 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Tristan Stubbs played an unbeaten inning of 71 runs for the team with the help of 3 fours and 7 sixes in 25 balls. Gerald Coetzee took maximum 4 wickets for Mumbai Indians, while Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets.
The second match of the day was played between Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans at Ekana Cricket Stadium. Batting first, Lucknow Super Giants scored 163 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. Marcus Stoinis played the highest innings of 58 runs for the team.
In reply, Gujarat Titans were all out for 130 runs in 18.5 overs while chasing the target, and Lucknow won by 33 runs. Yash Thakur took maximum 5 wickets for Lucknow Super Giants.
