IPL 2024: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Major Changes: The last few seasons of IPL have been very disappointing for Sunrisers Hyderabad. The team last made it to the playoffs in the 2020 season. In IPL 2020, David Warner took command of the team in place of Kane Williamson. In IPL 2021, Sunrisers Hyderabad won only 1 out of the first 7 matches, after which the franchise removed David Warner from the captaincy and appointed Kane Williamson as the captain.

Before the IPL 2022 mega auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad had shown confidence in Kane Williamson by retaining him. But under the captaincy of Kane Williamson, the team did not get any special results, the team was ranked 8th in the points table. Before IPL 2023, Sunrisers Hyderabad had released players like Kane Williamson and Nicholas Pooran. Then the franchise appointed Brian Lara as the head coach and Aiden Markram as the captain of the team.
