Today i.e. on 14th April, in a spectacular match of IPL 2024 played at Eden Garden, Kolkata, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 8 wickets. In this match, Phil Salt batted very well for Kolkata Knight Riders and played an unbeaten match-winning inning of 89 runs for his team with the help of 14 fours and 3 sixes in 47 balls.

Phil Salt did not spare any bowler of Lucknow team and continuously hit hard. Salt started playing aggressively from his first ball of this match. Because of this batting of Phil Salt, he was awarded the Player of the Match award against Lucknow.

Not only this, Phil Salt also made a very good partnership with captain Shreyas Iyer and added 122* runs for the third wicket. Not only in batting but also in wicketkeeping, this English player did very well and took two brilliant catches. He caught the catches of Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran of Lucknow.

Kolkata defeated Lucknow at home

In this match, Lucknow team batted first and scored 161 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. The worst thing for the Lucknow team was that their wickets kept falling at regular intervals. On behalf of the team, Nicholas Puran batted brilliantly and played a stormy innings of 45 runs. Apart from him, captain KL Rahul contributed 39 runs, while young batsman Ayush Badoni scored 29 runs. Nicholas Puran was the highest run scorer for his team in this match.

Mitchell Starc bowled very well for Kolkata Knight Riders and took three wickets for 28 runs in four overs. Apart from them, Vaibhav Arora, Andre Russell, Varun Chakraborty and Sunil Narayan took one wicket each.
