Today i.e. on 17th April, a great match will be played between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. So far, there have been many such matches in IPL 2024 in which teams have scored more than 200 runs in 20 overs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad had scored 287 runs in 20 overs against RCB whereas against Mumbai Indians the team batted brilliantly and scored 277 runs. This season has seen many big records being made. Kolkata Knight Riders also scored 223 runs against Rajasthan while Royals easily achieved the target of 224 runs.

So far, 31 matches have been played in IPL 2024 in which Kolkata Knight Riders have scored more than 200 runs in an innings thrice and Sunrisers Hyderabad is also at the first place in this list. Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians have achieved this fantastic feat twice each while Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, RCB and Rajasthan Royals have crossed the 200-run mark once each this season.

Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting believes that in this match also the Delhi team would like to play aggressive cricket against Gujarat. Ricky Ponting revealed this during the press conference before the match against Gujarat Titans.

According to NDTV Sports, Ricky Ponting said, ‘I think the game will go the same way. Sunrisers Hyderabad has made some big scores. Kolkata Knight Riders also scored 272 runs against us. I think the impact player rule is proving to be very important for the team in the batting lineup. Travis Head batted very well last night.

You cannot bat like this unless you have the confidence that there are batsmen in the team who can come down and bat aggressively. Like we have seen in Big Bash League Australia, only the team whose bowling is very defensive wins, but in IPL the rules are quite different and that is why those teams whose batting lineup is very strong are performing well here.

I feel that this IPL season will be won only by the team which bats aggressively and not the one whose bowling lineup is defensive.
