Sunrisers Hyderabad had to face defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders in the final of the Indian Premier League 2024. The performance of the team was very disappointing in the final. Let us tell you, in the final, Sunrisers Hyderabad batted first and scored 113 runs after losing all the wickets, in response to which Kolkata won the match with 8 wickets remaining.

After the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s assistant coach Simon Helmot made a big revelation about his team’s performance. Simon Helmot agreed that his team could not play in the final as per the plan and that is why they had to face defeat. Hyderabad’s assistant coach also said that their plan was to play aggressive cricket in the final as well but the result did not go in their favour.

Simon Helmot said in the post-match press conference, ‘We would not like to make any changes in the way we are playing cricket. We want to play aggressive cricket and also want to work smart. It was not our plan that the whole team should be all out for 113 runs. We played positive cricket but due to some good balls we went on the backfoot.’

We should give credit to Kolkata Knight Riders: Simon Helmot

Simon Helmot further said, ‘Travis Head is a very experienced player against left-arm fast bowlers. There were some matches in which Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma scored runs. We could not perform well in the middle order. Kolkata Knight Riders should also be given credit. They performed very well throughout this season and left their mark in all three departments in this entire edition. Their team was quite balanced and there was a lot of depth in their batting and that is why the team won IPL 2024.

I think Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan had a very good season. Nitish Reddy also made his mark in the 2024 season. Last season we were at the bottom of the points table. I am confident that we would like to play even better cricket in the upcoming season.

IPL 2025: MS Dhoni will be CSK’s first retention: Harbhajan Singh

Dhoni has made CSK champion five times under his captaincy. MS Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh (Image Credit- Twitter Harbhajan Singh on MS Dhoni: Harbhajan Singh, famously known as the former veteran spinner and turbanator of the Indian cricket team, has recently given a big statement about MS Dhoni. Harbhajan says that Dhoni is going to be the first name in the retention list of Chennai Super Kings (CSK). It is noteworthy that a mega auction can be seen for the upcoming season of IPL at the end of November. But before this auction, all the 10 teams have to submit the list of their retained players to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) before October 31, 2024. But meanwhile, Harbhajan’s statement has grabbed headlines. Harbhajan Singh gave a big statement Let us tell you that in a recent discussion with Star Sports, Harbhajan said- I am not sure whether Dhoni will play or not, but if he is available, he will definitely be the team’s first choice to retain, even if He should be considered an uncapped player this season. Harbhajan further said- After Dhoni, CSK’s next choice will be Ravindra Jadeja and Rachin Ravindra. As far as captain Ruturaj Gaikwad is concerned, he is also sure to be retained, I believe that these four players will be retained. Apart from this, we can also keep Mathisha Pathirana in the team, who is an excellent bowler. If an uncapped player is retained, it could be a surprise choice, but it is possible that CSK will retain only five players. So in my view, the possible retentions are MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Rachin Ravindra, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Pathirana. Well, only after the retention list comes, it will be known which players have been retained by CSK? But it is certain that if Dhoni is available for the upcoming season, then CSK is going to be seen retaining him at any cost.
