In the 35th match of IPL 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Delhi Capitals by 67 runs at their home ground. Thanks to the brilliant batting of Travis Head, SRH batted first and put 266/7 runs on the board. In response, Delhi Capitals was all out for 199 runs. Jake Fraser had made a match for DC at one point, but after his dismissal, Sunrisers made a comeback. For SRH, T Natarajan took four wickets for 19 runs in a spell of 4 overs. With this win, Sunrisers Hyderabad has reached second place in the points table.

Travis-Abhishek’s explosive start

After losing the toss and opting to bat first, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored a mountain-like score of 266 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma once again gave a good start to SRH and batted brilliantly and scored 125 runs without losing any wicket in the powerplay. However, soon after the powerplay, Kuldeep Yadav broke this partnership by dismissing Sharma.

Abhishek Sharma scored 46 runs in 12 balls with the help of two fours and six sixes. Today Aiden Markram (1) and Heinrich Klaasen (15) were out cheaply. But Travis Head played a brilliant innings. He scored 89 runs in just 32 balls, which included 11 fours and 6 sixes. In the end, Shahbaz Ahmed hit some attractive shots and played an unbeaten inning of 59 runs. In this innings, Shahbaz hit 2 fours and 5 sixes. Nitish Reddy contributed 37 runs.

Kuldeep Yadav was the most successful bowler from Delhi. He took four wickets, but proved to be very expensive. Whereas Mukesh Kumar and Akshar Patel got 1-1 wicket.

Delhi lost early wickets

Chasing the huge target, Delhi opener Prithvi Shaw tried to give a good start by hitting four consecutive fours, but Washington Sundar gave a big blow to DC by taking his wicket on the fifth ball. David Warner (1) also could not show anything amazing. After this, Jake Fraser McGurk batted stormily and scored a half-century in just 15 balls.

But he could not stay at the crease for long. He was out in the 7th over after scoring 65 runs in 18 balls. Delhi got the fourth blow in the form of Abhishek Porel. He contributed 42 runs. Rishabh Pant was seen struggling and finally got out as the last wicket after scoring 44 runs. Delhi team was all out on the score of 199 in 19.1 overs and lost the match by 67 runs.

T Natarajan was the most successful and economical bowler for Hyderabad, taking four wickets. Whereas Mayank Markande and Nitish Reddy got two wickets each. Washington Sundar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 1-1 wicket.
