In the 20th match of IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by 29 runs to achieve their first win in the tournament. Thanks to the explosive innings of Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Tim David and Romario Shepherd, MI set a target of 235 runs for DC. In response, Rishabh Pant’s team could score only 205 runs in the stipulated overs. Prithvi Shaw (66) and Tristan Stubbs (71*) batted well for Delhi, but could not lead the team to victory.

In the match, Mumbai Indians, batting first, scored 234 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Rohit Sharma played the highest innings of 49 runs for MI. Romario Shepherd scored 32 runs against Enrique Norkhia in the last over of the innings, which is the most expensive over of this season. He hit two fours and four sixes in the over. Rishabh Pant’s bat did not work

Chasing the target of 235 runs, Delhi Capitals could score only 205 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 29 runs. The team had a very bad start. David Warner was out after scoring just 10 runs. But after this Prithvi Shaw and Abhishek Porel formed a good partnership and brought the team back into the contest.

Prithvi Shaw batted brilliantly and played a valuable inning of 66 runs in 40 balls with the help of 8 fours and 3 sixes. While Porel contributed 41 runs. Middle order batsmen Rishabh Pant (1), Axar Patel (8) and Lalit Yadav (3) could not do anything special. In the end Tristan Stubbs tried his best to lead the team to victory, but he could not do it alone. He did not get support from any batsman.

Stubbs scored 71* runs in just 25 balls with the help of 3 fours and 7 sixes. For Mumbai Indians, Gerald Coetzee took four wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets.

‘Jasprit Bumrah is a joke’ – shocking statement of former English bowler after Perth Test

Bumrah took 8 wickets in both the innings of that Test match and for this he was chosen Player of the Match. In the match, India achieved a spectacular victory within four days and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. After seeing the brilliant bowling in that match, former England cricket team fast bowler Steven Finn has praised Jasprit Bumrah’s performance in the first Test match against Australia. Finn praised him a lot and even said that he is the best player in the world. Speaking with former England captain Alastair Cook on TNT Sports, Steven Finn said, “Jaiswal scored a brilliant 161, but he is the player I like to watch. That is Jasprit Bumrah. I think he really is the best player in the world. Honestly, sometimes I think bowling like him is a joke! You see him bowling and you just think, I’m glad I don’t have to come out to bat.” He further said, “I was surprised that India went there (Australia) and defeated Australia, where usually it is very difficult to go and play cricket. Perth, I know it’s not the WACA; I know it’s a new stadium, but still, historically, Australia hasn’t lost many matches there. I thought India performed very bravely there.” Let us tell you that, Bumrah now has 118 wickets in 27 Test matches in SENA countries at an impressive average of 22.55, which also includes his career best performance (6/33). During this period, he has taken five wicket hauls 7 times, which is equal to Kapil Dev. They are followed by BS Chandrashekhar and Zaheer Khan (six each), and Bishan Singh Bedi and Anil Kumble (five each).
