In the 23rd match of IPL 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad have registered a thrilling victory over Punjab Kings by 2 runs. Batting first, Hyderabad scored 182 runs on the board with the help of Nitish Reddy’s brilliant half-century. In response, while chasing the target, Punjab team could score only 180 runs in the stipulated overs. The pair of Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma tried their best to make the team win, but they did not succeed.

Nitish Reddy took SRH to the score of 182

Earlier, after losing the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) scored a challenging score of 182 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Nitish Reddy had a big contribution in taking SRH to this score. When the team was looking in trouble after losing 3 wickets at the score of 39 in the powerplay, Nitish Reddy displayed tremendous batting.

He played an important inning of 64 runs in 37 balls with the help of 4 fours and 5 sixes. Whereas Abdul Samad scored 25 runs in 12 balls with the help of 5 fours. For Punjab, Arshdeep Singh bowled well and took four wickets for 29 runs in four overs, while Harshal Patel got two wickets.

Bad start for Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings had a very disappointing start while chasing the target. Opener Jonny Bairstow once again failed to score runs. Pat Cummins sent him to the pavilion without opening the account. After this, Bhuvneshwar Kumar created problems for Punjab by taking the wickets of impact player Prabhsimran (4) and Shikhar Dhawan (14). However, Sam Curran (29) and Sikandar Raza (28) tried to take control of the team.

In the end Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma once again took up the responsibility for the team. Both the batsmen batted hard in the last overs and scored runs quickly, but Punjab remained two runs short of the target. While Shashank remained unbeaten on 46 runs in 25 balls, Ashutosh Sharma returned unbeaten on 33 runs in 15 balls. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took maximum two wickets for SRH.
