Virat Kohli once again proved why he is called King Kohli. Kohli played a match-winning innings against Punjab Kings and played an important role in RCB’s victory. He played a brilliant inning of 77 runs in 49 balls. With this, Kohli achieved another milestone in T-20 cricket.

Virat Kohli has become the first Indian and the third player overall to score 100 or more half-centuries in T-20 cricket. Kohli has so far scored 12,092 runs in 378 matches in T-20 cricket at an average of 41.26. He has 8 centuries to his name in this format. He is the batsman and overall sixth highest run scorer among Indians in T-20 cricket.

Virat Kohli scored unbeaten 122 runs in just 61 balls against Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup 2022, which is his highest individual score in T20 cricket.

Apart from Kohli, there is Chris Gayle of West Indies in the list, who has scored 50+ 110 times in T-20 cricket. He has also scored 22 centuries. At second place is Australia’s David Warner, who has scored 50 or more 109 times. He has 8 centuries to his name.

RCB registered its first win of the season

Talking about the Punjab vs Bengaluru match, RCB had to struggle in the beginning while chasing 177 runs. However, Virat Kohli took charge and played a strong innings. His teammates from one end kept going to the pavilion, but Kohli kept scoring runs.

He played a brilliant half-century of 77 runs before falling victim to Harshal Patel’s ball in the 16th over. After his dismissal, the RCB team faltered. But in the end, the explosive partnership of Dinesh Karthik (28*) and Mahipal Lomror (17*) gave the Faf du Plessis-led franchise its first win of the season.
