Kolkata Knight Riders mentor Gautam Gambhir has praised Mitchell Starc for his excellent bowling in the Indian Premier League 2024 playoffs. Let us tell you, Mitchell Starc took three wickets for 34 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 1, while in the final he took two wickets for 14 runs against the same team. Many people praised Mitchell Starc’s bowling.

In the Indian Premier League 2024 auction, Mitchell Starc was included in the Kolkata Knight Riders team for Rs 24.75 crore. The performance of the brilliant fast bowler was quite disappointing in the initial matches of IPL 2024. In the first two matches, Mitchell Starc gave 100 runs in 8 overs and did not take a single wicket.

However, by the end of the tournament, Mitchell Starc had 17 wickets at an average of 26.12. According to Gautam Gambhir, he had no doubts about Starc and he knew very well that the excellent fast bowler would prove to be the X-factor for him.

Gautam Gambhir told Sportskeeda on the match, ‘We had no doubt about Starc and we all knew that he would prove to be the X factor for us in this tournament. We all knew that at the right time he would present his tremendous performance in front of the world and he did just that. Starc bowled very well in Qualifier 1 and the final and this is the mark of a big player. There was no talk of money at all and with Starc’s arrival our team became even stronger.’

Gautam Gambhir praised Mitchell Starc a lot

Regarding Abhishek Sharma’s bowling in the final, Gautam Gambhir said, ‘You expect a bowler to bowl a ball like this. Kolkata Knight Riders expected a great performance from Mitchell Starc in Qualifier 1 and the final and he did just that. I cannot say whether this ball was playable or not because there is no ball that cannot be played but yes it was a very good ball.

I don’t care what people are saying about Starc or what is being discussed about him on social media. According to me, there should be no discussion about performance because big players always leave their mark in important matches.

Michael Vaughan (Image Credit- Twitter X) Former England captain Michael Vaughan has recently been seen jokingly apologizing to former Australian cricket team opener Matthew Hayden. Let us tell you that when Hayden was out in a match during the Ashes series, Vaughan was praised for his captaincy, but Hayden was out for some other reason. Vaughan recently revealed this interesting incident in the Club Prairie Fire Podcast. In this podcast, Vaughan said about Hayden’s dismissal during that match – Hey Hados (Matthew Hayden), I should really apologize to you. The other day at Edgbaston, you came out to bat and I was given credit for the tactical genius of replacing Andrew Strauss and getting caught at short extra cover off Matthew Hoggard on the first ball of the morning . Vaughan further said- You don’t realize this, Strauss (Andrew Strauss) was talking nonsense. He came to the pitch late, and instead of running towards the slip, I just asked him to wait at extra cover, as he was out of the field to use the washroom at that time, and there was someone else in the slip in his place. . Sourav Ganguly defends Gautam Gambhir’s sharp comment on panting, know what Dada said?

The market of rhetoric is hot before the start of BGT between India and Australia. Sourav Ganguly and Gautam Gambhir (Image Credit- Twitter X) Cricket fans around the world are eagerly waiting for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series between India and Australia (IND vs AUS) starting from 22nd November. On the other hand, statements are being made continuously by former cricketers before the start of this much-awaited series. In this sequence, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting had expressed concern about former captain and Virat Kohli, who is out of form in Test cricket these days. On this statement of Ponting, the current head coach of the Indian team and former opener Gautam Gambhir had said that he should stop worrying about Kohli’s form and focus on the Australian team. On the other hand, Gambhir has now got the support of former Indian captain and Sourav Ganguly, popularly known as Dada, on this statement. Ganguly says that there is nothing wrong in whatever Gambhir said. Sourav Ganguly defended Gautam Gambhir’s statement Let us tell you that in a recent discussion with Revzsports, Ganguly said – I would just say that let him be. I saw some criticism on what he said in the press conference. He (Gambhir) is like that, let him remain like that. When he won the IPL, it was just like that, you were rooting for him. Just because he has lost three Test matches and one ODI series, the straight thing has not been viewed well. But that’s just the way it is. Ganguly further said- Ever since I have watched cricket, Australians have been difficult for you. He has played his cricket like this, be it (Steve) Waugh, Ponting or (Matthew) Hayden. Therefore, there is nothing wrong in what Gambhir has said. That’s just the way he is, and he fights, he competes. So let’s give him a chance. He has been in coaching only for two-three months and you are passing judgment on him.
