CSK vs RCB match has not taken place in Chennai since March 23, 2019
First match of IPL 2024 on Friday, March 22 Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium. Fans are eagerly waiting for this match. Whereas MS Dhoni has handed over the captaincy of CSK to Ruturaj Gaikwad. Therefore, Gaikwad will be seen captaining CSK in the upcoming season.
A total of 31 matches have been played between these two teams, out of which CSK has won 20 matches, while RCB has won only 10 matches. One match yielded no result. When both the teams face each other on Friday, they will play against each other for the first time in five years in Chepauk. There has not been a CSK vs RCB match in Chennai since March 23, 2019.
Let us tell you that due to Covid-19 in India, the 2020 edition was played in UAE. Whereas in the first half phase of the 2021 edition held in India, both the teams did not face each other in Chennai. However, on April 18, RCB played against Kolkata Knight Riders in Chepauk. Later the second phase was held in UAE.
RCB last played against KKR in Chepauk
In that match against KKR rcb Batting first, they scored 204 runs with the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Maxwell played an inning of 78 runs in 49 balls, while AB de Villiers scored an unbeaten 76 runs. In response, KKR team, which came to chase the target of 205 runs, fell short by 38 runs.
Openers Nitish Rana and Shubman Gill tried to build a partnership but failed. Rahul Tripathi and captain Eoin Morgan were also out cheaply. Andre Russell scored 31 runs in 20 balls but that too went in vain. The team could score only 166 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Kiwi bowler Kyle Jamieson was the most successful bowler for RCB, taking 3 wickets. Whereas Yuzvendra Chahal and Harshal Patel took 2-2 wickets. Washington Sundar got 1 wicket.
Now RCB will take the field against CSK on Friday remembering their last win in Chepauk. His aim will be to start the tournament with a win.
