BCCI is unable to find any good venue to hold the IPL 2025 mega auction. Currently, BCCI is considering holding the IPL auction in Saudi Arabia, but is unable to find an affordable venue for the same. Earlier it was being said that it could be organized in London, but it has been decided to go ahead with this option, because it will be very cold in London at that time.
In such a situation, BCCI has limited the options to Riyadh or Jeddah. According to the report of Cricbuzz, BCCI officials have not taken any final decision. A mini auction was held in Dubai last year. This is still an option, but it is not the preferred option for BCCI at the moment.

According to reports, the auction is expected to take place in the last week of November, as current BCCI Secretary Jay Shah is going to take over as ICC Chairman from December 1. Finding a hotel anywhere is not a big issue for the world’s richest cricket board, but the board is not able to take a final decision keeping in mind other stakeholders.
Finding a suitable hotel or venue is big for BCCI, as pricing is a key factor among franchise owners. The price of hotels in Saudi Arabia is much higher than in Dubai and this is a big issue for BCCI and team owners.
The report read, “BCCI and IPL officials are now looking for a venue where the auction can be held over two days and can accommodate the entire IPL contingent, which will include 10 franchise delegations and two broadcasters – A huge contingent of Jio and Disney stars can join in.”
