T20 cricket is not easy, he (Glenn Maxwell) is just one good innings away from getting back in form- Usman Khawaja
Australian player Glenn Maxwell’s performance in IPL 2024 has been very poor. Maxwell was able to score only 52 runs in 9 matches at a poor average of 5.78 and a strike rate of 120.93. Royal Challengers Bangalore removed Glenn Maxwell from the playing 11 in the middle of the season and included England’s Will Jacks in the team.
Maxwell got a place back in the playing 11 after Will Jacks returned to England due to national duty, but he failed to contribute. Glenn Maxwell will now be seen playing for Australia in the T20 World Cup 2024, but his poor form remains a matter of concern.
However, Maxwell’s teammate Usman Khawaja believes that Maxwell will overcome his poor form in the IPL and perform brilliantly for the team in the World Cup.
Maxi has proven himself time and again- Usman Khawaja
Australian player Usman Khawaja believes that Glenn Maxwell is just one good innings away from getting back to his best form. Talking to West Australian, Khawaja said, ‘IPL form doesn’t matter at all. Maxi has proven himself time and again. Any player who has performed for a long period of time understands that you can’t go out there and perform well every time.
Usman Khawaja further said, ‘You take some risks, especially if you bat in the middle order, and T20 cricket is not easy. He is just one good innings away from getting back in form. It doesn’t matter what happened in the past. He is not going to change his game nor should he do so. Just keep moving forward, he will find his form.’
Glenn Maxwell has not yet joined the Australian team for the T20 World Cup 2024. At the same time, let us tell you that the Kangaroo team has defeated Namibia by 7 wickets in their first warm-up match.
