The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the retention rules ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Apart from this, rules were also issued regarding teams’ purse, Right to Match Card (RTM) and foreign players. The IPL Governing Council has taken a big decision. This has blown the minds of foreign players. Actually, IPL has decided to ban foreign players missing from the season after being selected in the auction. He will be allowed to leave the league only in medical condition.
Not only this, the board has given a deadline to all IPL franchises regarding the retention of players. Let us tell you, the board has asked the franchises to submit the list of retained players by October 31. This means that all the teams have got the deadline to retain players. There are many experienced players on whom the franchise will take important decisions in the upcoming season.
According to the rules of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, only a maximum of five capped and two uncapped players can be retained before the auction. Not only this, the player who makes his international debut before October 31 will be considered a capped player.
IPL said in its released statement, ‘It is up to the IPL franchise to choose the combination for retainers and RTM. 6 Retention/RTM can include a maximum of 5 capped players and two uncapped players.
All the players will be seen performing well in the Indian Premier League 2025.
