The Board of Control for Cricket in India has appointed Morne Morkel as the new bowling coach of Team India. Team India now has to play a two-match Test series against Bangladesh which starts on 19 September. The first Test between these two teams will be played in Chennai and Morne Morkel has also joined the Indian team ahead of the upcoming series.
Morne Morkel was seen spending a lot of time with Akash Deep and other young fast bowlers in Chennai. Let us tell you that after the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, India has to play a three-match Test series against New Zealand and a five-match Test series against Australia. All these series will be very important for Team India.
After the first day’s practice session, Morne Morkel said that Team India is lucky that they have many quality senior players and this is making their work very easy. Morne Morkel also praised Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
BCCI has released a video in which Morne Morkel said, ‘I understand that there is a hope to win and I have experienced this a lot during my playing days. I am sharing the knowledge of fighting this thing with all the young players. The senior players will be seen performing brilliantly and our plan is to support them. We would like to give them the right advice and also play an important role in the team’s victory.’

It was a special moment for me that I was being appointed the bowling coach of the Indian team: Morne Morkel
Morne Morkel said, ‘When I came to know about this, I locked myself in the room for 5 minutes. I first talked to my father and did not go to my wife. Mostly it is said that you should go and ask your wife but I went to my father. I have been a fan of cricket for many years and this was really a special moment for me.
I enjoyed it for the first 5-7 minutes and then told my family that I have been appointed as the bowling coach of the Indian team. They were also very happy with this.
