Board of Control for Cricket in India Secretary Jay Shah said that he had no role in the removal of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer from the central contract list of players. He also revealed that Ajit Agarkar had taken this decision.

Both these players are currently participating in the Indian Premier League 2024. While on one hand Ishan Kishan is playing for Mumbai Indians, on the other hand Shreyas Iyer is captaining Kolkata Knight Riders. Kishan and Iyer did not participate in Ranji Trophy matches before the start of IPL 2024.

BCCI had appealed to all the Indian players that it is very important for them to play Ranji Trophy matches, but despite that, both these players did not take the board’s decision seriously. Shreyas Iyer played a few Ranji matches but when his home team needed an Indian batsman the most, he was with the Kolkata Knight Riders camp in Mumbai.

According to NDTV Sports, BCCI President Jay Shah said, ‘You can check the constitution. I am just the convenor of the selection committee. Ajit Agarkar has to take the decision regarding Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer. It was his decision to exclude both these players from the central contract list. My role is only that we will follow whatever Ajit Agarkar says. Sanju Samson has taken his place.

Hardik Pandya has expressed his desire to play domestic white ball tournaments in future: Jay Shah

Jai Shah further said, ‘I have spoken to both Iyer and Kishan. Media also has reports. Not only this, Hardik Pandya has also said that if BCCI asks him to play in white ball format then he is ready to play in Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. It is important for every player to play whether he feels like playing or not.

Currently, Indian players are participating in the Indian Premier League 2024. There are many young players who have performed very well in this tournament so far. Talking about Shreyas Iyer, the performance of Kolkata Knight Riders has been quite good but the team captain has not been able to leave his mark yet in this season. Talking about Ishan Kishan, he batted very well in some matches but he has also been out of form for some time.

Finn praised him a lot and even said that he is the best player in the world. Speaking with former England captain Alastair Cook on TNT Sports, Steven Finn said, “Jaiswal scored a brilliant 161, but he is the player I like to watch. That is Jasprit Bumrah. I think he really is the best player in the world. Honestly, sometimes I think bowling like him is a joke! You see him bowling and you just think, I’m glad I don’t have to come out to bat.” He further said, “I was surprised that India went there (Australia) and defeated Australia, where usually it is very difficult to go and play cricket. Perth, I know it’s not the WACA; I know it’s a new stadium, but still, historically, Australia hasn’t lost many matches there. I thought India performed very bravely there.” Let us tell you that, Bumrah now has 118 wickets in 27 Test matches in SENA countries at an impressive average of 22.55, which also includes his career best performance (6/33).
