The Indian team is going to host Bangladesh this month for a two-match Test series and three T20 matches. The first Test match between the two teams on the tour is to be played from September 19 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Meanwhile, before the first Test match, Bangladeshi captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto said that Bangladesh will enter the field with the intention of winning.

Let us tell you that recently Bangladesh team defeated Pakistan in a two match test series on their home ground. In such a situation, their confidence will be sky high. However, it will not be easy for Bangladesh to defeat Team India in India. In fact, since 2012, the Indian team has not lost a home series.

In the pre-press conference before leaving for India, Nazmul Hussain Shanto admitted that Team India is above Bangladesh in the rankings, but our aim is to play well for five days.

Shanto said, “They are way ahead of us in the rankings. But we have played well recently. We want to play well for five days, that is our goal. We want a result in the last session of the Test match. At that time the match can go in any direction. This is a chance (to get our first win in India). But we do not want to think too far ahead.”

The Bangladeshi captain further said that, this will be a challenging series but the Pakistan series has given us extra confidence. I think the whole country has this confidence now. Every series is an opportunity. We want to win both the Tests, but we have to stick to our process. If we do our job, we can get good results.

Talking about the team’s bowling unit, Shanto said, “We are in a good position with our bowling attack, both spin and pace. Maybe our fast bowlers are behind them in terms of experience, but our spin attack is close to them. They can bowl in any conditions. All I can say is that our fast bowlers, spinners and batsmen will give 100%. I think we can make a difference only when we play as a team.”
