Last year, Jaydev performed brilliantly for Sussex and took 11 wickets in 3 matches.
Indian cricket team’s experienced fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat is going to join the county team Sussex for the last matches of the County Championship 2024. Let us tell you that in the upcoming season he will be seen playing five matches for the team.
It is noteworthy that Unadkat was last seen playing for Team India in the biggest format of the game in July 2023. In this series against West Indies, he bowled only 28 overs in 2 matches. So after this period, he went straight to UK, where he took part in the last four matches for Sussex. During this period, Unadkat had taken a total of 11 wickets at an average of 24.18.
Because of Unadkat’s performance, Sussex finished their tournament in third place in Division Two last season. So who can forget Unadkat’s performance of taking 6 wickets for 94 runs against Leicestershire in his last match. On the other hand, now Unadkat will be seen playing for the Sussex team once again in the upcoming County Championship. So, regarding joining the team, Unadkat said-
Last season we won a thrilling match against Leicestershire on the last day. After this match I felt at home in county cricket. When I was offered a contract by Farby (Paul Farbrace Sussex head coach) for the last leg of the County Championship this season, I was confident that I wanted to come back and win matches with my team-mates. I had a good first county season. So I can’t wait to get back and perform this summer.
On the other hand, about Unadkat joining the team, Sussex head coach Paul Farbrace said – We are all happy that Jaydev (Unadkat) is returning to The First Central County Ground for the last five Championship matches of the upcoming season.
