Before the second Test match, Root was seen practicing in a different style in the nets.
England registered a thrilling 28-run win over India in the Hyderabad Test match and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. English batsman Joe Root, however, could not do anything special in the match. He scored 29 runs in England’s first innings, whereas he could score only 2 runs in the second innings. Now before the second test match, he was seen practicing in a different style in the nets.
Joe Root is trying to take ‘baseball’ to a different level. Root, who is counted in the Fab-4, was seen playing switch hits and sweep shots in the net session before the second Test.
The English batsman was seen practicing the switch hit during the net session by adopting a stance like that of a left-handed batsman and then coming into position and practicing the sweep shot. Before the Visakhapatnam Test, he decided to try this type of shot in Indian conditions, which could prove effective against the Indian spinners.
Root took 5 wickets in the first test
Apart from batting, Joe Root has also proved to be very effective with the ball. Whenever the English team needs a wicket, he is successful in getting success. When it comes to India, Root definitely prefers to bowl in the spinning conditions available in the subcontinent region. In the first test of the series, Joe Root proved to be the best spinner of the team as he achieved important successes.
He took four wickets for 79 runs in the first innings of the Hyderabad Test. He took one wicket in the second innings. Therefore, when Joe Root takes the field in the second Test in Vizag, he will be desperate to take wickets with the ball apart from scoring runs with the bat. Root has taken 13 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 24.84. Apart from this, Root also has 5 wicket hauls in his name.
