The Australian team will tour Sri Lanka in January-February 2025 for a two-match Test series and a one-off ODI. The two-match Test series between these two teams will start from January 29 and will be a part of this cycle of the World Test Championship. Let us tell you that both these tests will be played in Galle.

The first test will start from January 29 while the second test will start from February 6. This scheduled has been announced by Cricket Australia. Not only this, Sri Lanka Cricket has also announced this schedule. The venue for the one-off ODI between these two teams has not been announced yet.

The two-match Test series between these two teams will be very important. This is because Australia has performed brilliantly in this cycle of the World Test Championship and the team is at the second position in the points table with a win percentage of 62.5. Talking about Sri Lanka, their start in this cycle was not so good but after the change in the coaching setup of the team, they have also made a comeback and the team is at the third position in the points table with a winning percentage of 55.56.

Whichever team wins this two-match Test series can almost secure its place in the final of the World Test Championship which is starting from June 25 at Lord’s Stadium in London. Team India is at the first place in this points table, who have to play a 5-match Test series against Australia from 22nd November.

Australia last visited Sri Lanka for a Test series in 2022

Let us tell you that before this, Australia had toured Sri Lanka for the Test series in June-July 2022. This two-match Test series ended in a 1-1 draw. While on one hand Australia won the first match of this Test series by 10 wickets, on the other hand Sri Lanka won the second match by one innings.
