Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) is also going to have its own state cricket league like the rest of the Indian states. Let us tell you that the association has announced the Kerala Cricket League today, August 9, Friday. (KCL) not only announced the first season of the IPL, but also unveiled the logo for the first season of the tournament.
Kerala’s pride and Indian wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson was present on this occasion. Let us tell you that the entire program of the opening season of Kerala Cricket League was held in Thiruvananthapuram today, in which Samson participated as an icon player.
On the other hand, if we give you information about this tournament, then the first season of KCL will be played between 2nd and 19th September. The 6 franchises involved in the season will have to include at least 20 players in their team. Apart from this, there will be an auction for the purchase of 168 domestic players in the first season of KCL. Apart from the logo of the tournament, the logo of each franchise has also been revealed.
KCA official gave a big statement
Regarding the first season of this tournament, a KCA official was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying- The player auction for the Kerala Cricket League is scheduled to begin at 10 am on Saturday at Hyatt Regency. The auction briefing will be conducted by the renowned Charu Sharma, followed by a mock auction to familiarise the franchises with the process.
The official further added- Fans can look forward to two exciting games each day, including day and night matches. The league will be officially launched on 31 August 2024 at 12 noon at Hyatt Regency by renowned actor and KCL brand ambassador, Mohanlal.
Also, apart from Sanju Samson, famous players like PA Abdul Basit, Sachin Baby, Mohammad Azharuddin, Basil Thampi, Vishnu Vinod and Rohan S Kannumal who played domestic cricket for Kerala have been included in the list of icons.
The base price of players playing Ranji Trophy for Kerala in category A will be Rs 2 lakh, while the base price of players in category B will be Rs 1 lakh and the base price of players in category C will be Rs 50 thousand.
