The auction for IPL 2025 is going to be held this time on 24 and 25 November in Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia. All the 10 franchises involved in this auction would like to purchase players and complete their respective remaining teams.

On the other hand, before the start of this auction, former Indian captain and opening batsman Sunil Gavaskar has given a big statement regarding Shreyas Iyer. Gavaskar says that KKR can still bid for his services.

It is noteworthy that under the captaincy of Iyer, KKR had won the IPL title of the year 2024. However, the franchise has not retained him due to disagreement over the amount being retained. KKR has retained Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine, Harshit Rana and Ramandeep Singh.

Sunil Gavaskar gave a big statement

Let us tell you that before the IPL 2025 auction, Gavaskar, while discussing with Star Sports, said on the Game Plan show – Last year (IPL 2024) when KKR won, Shreyas Iyer was the captain. As I said earlier for Rishabh Pant, sometimes there can be disagreement regarding fees.

Gavaskar further said- However, I also think that after Shreyas Iyer comes in the auction, KKR can also bid for his services. If KKR doesn’t bid, I think Delhi will do it.

Gavaskar further said about the star Indian wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who was released from Delhi Capitals, that Delhi would like him, because if Rishabh Pant is not in their team, then they will also have to find a captain. So, I think Delhi will definitely try to use the RTM card or bring Rishabh Pant back to their team in the auction.
