Gujarat Titans had scored 199 runs in this match and had given the target of 200 runs to the Punjab team. Punjab Kings batsmen batted very well and won the match.

On behalf of PBKS, young batsman Shashank Singh batted brilliantly and played a match-winning inning of 61* runs with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes in 29 balls against Gujarat. However, after taking Shashank Singh in their team, the Punjab team came to know that he was some other player and the one whom they had to take was the other Shashank Singh.

The young batsman has previously played for three franchises in the Indian Premier League. Before this, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad have also included him in their team.
