Basit Ali says that India’s domestic structure is focused on strengthening the roots of Test cricket, hence their players are succeeding in Test cricket.

They are facing criticism from the people of their own country for playing such shameful cricket. Many former cricketers are also included in this list.
After losing the series against Bangladesh, PCB is very upset, so they have given a statement that they will organize a domestic tournament. Through this tournament, they are going to groom some talented players so that they can play better than the old players and take their place.

Meanwhile, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has suggested the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to adopt the Indian model for the structure of domestic cricket. He stressed that in recent times, India has produced many excellent players through its domestic structure.
Basit Ali says that the Governing Council had earlier tried to adopt the systems of England, Australia and New Zealand, but they were not successful. That is why now the Indian system should be tried.
“After the Test series there will be a one-day tournament called Champions Cup. Pakistan has copied the systems of England, Australia and New Zealand. India is right next to us, please copy their system too. Copying also requires intelligence. Just copy what India is doing. Duleep Trophy is about to start. Is it a T20 or ODI tournament? No, it is a four-day tournament. They have focused on making their base strong, that is why they are so successful.”
Ali clearly states that India’s domestic structure is focused on strengthening the roots of Test cricket, hence their players are succeeding in Test cricket. Pakistan too must change its strategy and prioritise Test cricket for long-term success.
