MS Dhoni became the first player in IPL to complete 150 catches.
In a spectacular match of the Indian Premier League 2024 played today i.e. on 5th May, Chennai Super Kings defeated Punjab Kings at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. In this match, all the players from Chennai Super Kings performed very well and played an important role in the victory of their team.
Not only this, Mahendra Singh Dhoni achieved a great achievement in this match. MS Dhoni became the first player in IPL to complete 150 catches. He achieved this feat after taking the catch of Jitesh Sharma. Even though Mahendra Singh Dhoni failed to leave his mark with batting against Punjab, he performed very well in wicketkeeping.

Talking about the match, Chennai Super Kings, batting first, scored 167 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. The team had a good start against Punjab Kings but wickets kept falling at regular intervals in the middle overs. For Chennai, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 32 runs in 21 balls with the help of 4 fours and 1 six.
Apart from Ruturaj Gaikwad, experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja scored 43 runs in 26 balls with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes while Daryl Mitchell contributed 30 runs. Moeen Ali scored 17 runs. For Punjab Kings, Rahul Chahar and Harshal Patel took 3 wickets each while Arshdeep Singh took two wickets. Captain Sam Curran took one wicket.
While chasing the target, Punjab Kings kept falling wickets at regular intervals. On behalf of the team, Shashank Singh scored 27 runs in 20 balls with the help of four fours, while Prabhsimran Singh played an excellent inning of 30 runs in 23 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes. The top order batsmen batted very poorly against Chennai. This is the reason why the team was able to score only runs in this match.
Harshal Patel scored 12 runs while Rahul Chahar contributed 16 runs. For Chennai Super Kings, Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets for 20 runs in four overs while Tushar Deshpande took two wickets. Mitchell Santner took one wicket.
