T20 World Cup 2024 starting from June 1
Cricket fans are eagerly waiting for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Let us tell you that this time this tournament is going to start very soon from June 1 under the joint hosting of West Indies and USA.
So all the 20 teams participating in this multi-nation tournament are seen finalizing their preparations. On the other hand, the tournament’s defending champion England will also be seen playing to retain its title in the upcoming tournament.
So, before the start of the T20 World Cup, England cricket team’s fast bowler Mark Wood has expressed a concern. Wood is very upset about England not playing many practice matches before the tournament.
Mark Wood made a big statement
Let us tell you that before the start of the T20 World Cup, Mark Wood was quoted by Sky Sports Cricket as saying – Our team has experience for the T20 World Cup, but warm-up matches always make you feel different things. You can tinker with your strategy in practice matches. Some players of the team have come after playing IPL, and they are ready for the big tournament.
Wood further said- Some of the players in the team have not practiced. But those who have not practiced seem quite fresh. You want more practice matches before a big tournament, which creates a good balance.
Most of the players in the team feel that they will need just one or two matches to perform, but the tournament is short and ends quickly. But we have to go with what we have prepared.
