Mayank Yadav was ruled out of IPL 2024 due to injury
Young pacer Mayank Yadav impressed everyone with his fast bowling during IPL 2024. Not only this, there was also talk of his inclusion in India’s T20 World Cup squad. However, he got injured during the tournament and then things changed. He could not even recover in time and was out of the tournament.
However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is keeping an eye on Mayank Yadav. Given his ability to bowl at a speed of 150 kmph, BCCI officials are taking full care of him. They do not want to rush to bring the bowler into action. Currently, Mayank Yadav is in the NCA and is under the supervision of doctors.
According to reports, the 22-year-old player has started bowling in the nets and he is feeling much better and fit. Mayank has also talked about his fitness.
I am feeling quite fit- Mayank Yadav
Mayank Yadav told The Telegraph, “My recovery program went very well and now I am feeling much better. I also feel quite fit. I have to spend some more time here, but the good thing is that I have been bowling with full run-up and intensity for the last few days. I am happy with my progress so far.”
Let us tell you that Mayank can travel with the team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, yet the BCCI does not want to take any risk. A BCCI official said, a young fast bowler like Mayank should first be given the necessary time to deal with the needs of different formats. Therefore, strict care is being taken right now. If he is included in the Indian team, it is a risk, as it can harm the team.
