IPL 2024: MI vs KKR, Mid Innings Video Highlights: In IPL 2024, the great match of May 3 is being played between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium. In the points table, KKR is at 2nd position with 12 points and MI is at 9th position with 6 points.

In the match, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Kolkata was all out for 169 runs in 19.5 overs.

MI vs KKR: Kolkata lost four big wickets in powerplay

Batting first against Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders got a very poor start. The team had lost four big wickets inside the powerplay itself. In the very first over, Phil Salt (5) was out after playing a wrong shot against Nuwan Thushara. There was a clash between Tilak Verma and Naman Dheer at cover point, but Tilak took a good catch with his eyes on the ball.

Nuwan Thushara then showed the way to the pavilion to Angkrish Raghuvanshi (13) and Shreyas Iyer (6) in the third over. After three big setbacks, Sunil Narayan’s responsibility had increased further, but he became the victim of MI captain Hardik Pandya and lost his wicket. Sunil Narayan could score only 8 runs in 8 balls against Mumbai Indians. KKR had scored 57 runs losing 4 wickets in the powerplay.

After the end of the powerplay, Rinku Singh (9) lost his wicket against Piyush Chawla in the seventh over, and Kolkata suffered the fifth blow. At the score of 57, half of the Kolkata Knight Riders team had returned to the pavilion. After which there was a partnership of 83 runs for the sixth wicket between Venkatesh Iyer and Manish Pandey. Venkatesh Iyer played a composed innings and completed his half-century in 36 balls.

Hardik Pandya bowled the 17th over of Kolkata Knight Riders’ innings. Manish Pandey tried to hit a big shot on the second ball of the over, but Dewald Brevis, posted at covers, took an easy catch. Manish Pandey played an inning of 42 runs in 31 balls with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Venkatesh Iyer tried to play a reverse sweep shot on the last ball of the over, but the ball went straight to the short third man fielder. Andre Russell, standing at the non-striker’s end, ran for a run, Venkatesh Iyer sent him back, but it was too late. Nuwan Thushara gave the ball to Hardik Pandya and he ran out Andre Russell (7).

For Kolkata Knight Riders, Venkatesh Iyer played a brilliant inning of 70 runs in 52 balls with the help of 6 fours and 3 sixes. Venkatesh Iyer lost his wicket against Jasprit Bumrah in the 20th over.

Nuwan Thushara took 3 wickets

For Mumbai Indians, Jasprit Bumrah took 3 wickets for 18 runs in 3.5 overs. Bumrah dismissed Ramandeep Singh (2), Mitchell Starc (0) and Venkatesh Iyer (70). Nuwan Thushara took three wickets and Hardik Pandya took two wickets. Piyush Chawla had one wicket in his name.
